Aviation Field Engineer (m/w/d)

Provide on-site engineering support to amicably assure the successful definition, integration, operation, and certification of Garmin's avionics and flight control systems in customer aircraft.
Work directly with the customer to perform advanced troubleshooting, conduct bench testing and participate in ground and flight test efforts.
Position is based at customer site supporting Italian OEM customers.
Act as the primary on-site Garmin representative facilitating company’s customer relationship and working through technical issues.
Provide onsite developmental support for Garmin avionics and flight control systems, including possible support outside of normal business hours.
Generates customer specific engineering communications such as ECM (Engineering Coordination Memo) or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) notification documents.
Performs troubleshooting of advanced avionics and flight controls issues on an integration rig or aircraft
Supports customer ground and flight test efforts, including calibration and rigging, loading of software and configuration data, and collection of aircraft data.
Leverages strong working knowledge of integration test benches and provides leadership to customers on conducting testing.
Work closely with company engineers and customers to coordinate issues and resolve complex problems.
Provide technical information to customers and access to Garmin technical documents.

Pilot’s License, C Integrated Flight Deck experience preferred
Licensed Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic (or equivalent)
Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, or Physics
Familiarity with rotorcraft and fixed wing aircraft including avionics, aircraft systems, and flight controls
Demonstrates working knowledge of FAA and EASA certification regulations for Part 27/29 and Part 23/35 aircraft.
Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills on most avionics issues
Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
Demonstrates thorough working knowledge of all aircraft systems and their avionics interfaces
Demonstrates strong working knowledge of aircraft data acquisition methods
Demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Office tools
Possesses detailed working knowledge of Garmin aviation products
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with fluency in both Italian and English
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and customer service
Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
